Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council 1 Moorland Parade, Upton. Tel: 01202 632070 Follow us on Twitter @LytMinUptonTC Cars Parking on Pavements
We continue to receive a high volume of complaints about vehicles parking half on and off the pavement, causing obstruction to those legitimately using the pavement. This has been particularly problematic in Blandford Road South, where an already narrow pavement is almost completely covered by cars who chose to park in this inconsiderate fashion.
Firstly, the Town Council would ask all vehicle users to think before they park, and give due consideration to other highway users – hopefully this might reduce the problem.
We are however advised that obstruction of the highway is a matter that the Police can deal with. Anyone experiencing problems of this nature should report the incident via the Dorset Police website, which also has the facility to receive a photograph of the offending vehicle if you are able to take one:

RBL Car Park Available For School
We were delighted to hear that the Upton Royal British Legion has offered its car parking facilities to parents of both local schools at the beginning and end of each school day in a bid to reduce congestion in Moorland Way/Sea View Road.
If you are a parent who routinely drives their children to school, why not make use of this facility – especially when the weather is better – and give you and your family some fresh air and exercise before the day begins, whilst freeing up some of the very busy areas around the schools?
We think this is a great idea, and are very hopeful that some parents will take advantage of this.

Clocktower Site
The Town Council, in conjunction with Upton in Bloom and Upton Gardening Club, is pleased to report that lots of clearance has been completed to the area adjacent to the clocktower pathway. This area will soon be regenerated with sensory style planting, which will add to the overall appearance of the site.
The Town Council appreciates the efforts of all the local community organisations and their volunteers involved in this project, and offers thanks to the Turbary Allotment Trust for its recent grant to Upton Gardening Club in support of this venture.
