PLAY DELAYED AS STORM CLOUDS GATHER

After the fi rst round Nieves Clark was sitting in second place with a net 75. However, after the fi nal 18-hole round with a net 74 she fi nished up leading the fi eld with a total score for the two rounds of 149. This was good enough to beat off the opposition over the two rounds. Second place went to Sunny Roxburgh with a net 155, and third place Elaine Wilcox with a net 158. The fi nal round started in beautiful sunshine but was dramatically interrupted by a fl ash storm. Unusual foreboding cloud formations were captured by fellow golfer Jackie Acres just before the storm broke (pictured) and fortunately, the storm quickly passed and normal play was resumed.
