Tese first readers, below, writes specifically about seeing Ross Bernstein, sports- writer and author, provide the July 17 keynote address at STN EXPO 2018. His message, recapped at stnonline.com/go/c1, encompassed the value of the school bus industry and thinking differently.

“We enjoyed his message. Loved all the keynotes this year!” — @hootyhiker Comment on Instagram @stnmagazine

“What an extraordinary experience. I enjoyed it immensely. So much learning in four days. Great location as well. Te Peppermill was outstanding.” — Michael Ilicki Comment at Facebook.com/STNMagazine

Te following comment is in response to the STN partner update, “Torque – And Why it Matters for School Buses,” posted at stnonline.com/go/c2 on July 27. Te article discusses how the same displacement of diesel and natural gas school bus engines compare from a torque standpoint and the impact on operations.

“It would have been interesting to see the instant torque of electric engines included in the comparison among CNG [plus] diesel within this article. As the adoption of zero-emission school buses increases, particularly through the VW settlement funds, I imagine stakeholders will be more interested in hearing about them and all related issues (including torque, which tends to be the biggest impression on someone riding in an electric vehicle for the first time).” — Mary Lunetta, Campaign Representative Sierra Club Electric Vehicles Initiative

Tis comment relates to “Webinar: Propane Predicted to Lead School Bus Indus- try,” which was posted at stnonline.com/go/c3 on July 2. Te article recaps a June 28 free webinar and discusses a prediction by ROUSH CleanTech President Todd Mouw that propane will become the main source of fuel for school buses in 10 years, along with electric drivetrains also increasing in use.

“Early on, I learned that CNG required a heavy tank on board the vehicle, and there were few refill points, compared to propane. Now, I’m curious as to what encourages owners to adopt CNG as the fuel of choice.” — Stan The Man

“I will be holding our annual drivers safety classes and would like to know

what free webinars do you have available for our training. — Lori Lopez-Kaer Keaau, Hawaii
