e were very pleased to welcome Lee Harvey as our new Property Manager in September and his skills and enthusiasm have already resulted in noticeable improvements to the Museum, including site tidiness and car parking.


Major improvements to our electrical infrastructure have also dominated our lives since September, with the long-overdue but costly replacement of our increasingly inadequate transformer and with alterations required in our main switch room in the north east corner of the Stratosphere Chamber. existing power cables to the Brooklands Cars on the Members’ Hill and the Campbell Entrance hut as both of these were linked to the Bellman Hangar’s switch gear until this was permanently disconnected on 13th October. Most of this work has been carried out by Apsley Electrical staff assisted by members of the Property Team, although the new transformer was installed from 17th-18th October by UK Power Networks’ staff. Most of this work was due to be finished as this Bulletin goes to press, apart from replacing the old underground power cable up the Members’ Hill with a new overhead cable suspended from
