Motor Sport Legends Talks

Our first 2017 Motor Sport Legends event will take place on 16th March hosted by our old friend Steve Parrish. This time he will be in conversation with the motorcyclists John McGuiness and James Whitham in ‘Conquering the Mountain, the Isle of Man TT’. As far as future Motor Sport Legends dates are

concerned, we have a number of offers to be with us, but it’s all about timing and availability. We will of course keep you updated via the monthly e-newsletter, the new improved Museum/BTM website and the Bulletin.

They came in Jaguar ‘Brooklands Green’ paintwork with silver satin bonnets and cowls on the roadsters and a polished cowl on the three-wheelers. They also came with a Brooklands Centenary book and a year’s subscription to the Brooklands Trust

Many of you will be pleased to know that we will be holding our annual karting event at the Daytona Speedway, Sandown Park for the third year. This will take place in the spring so watch out for dates.

New for this year will be an ‘Afternoon Tea and Champagne’ event in the company of the Women’s Racing Associates Club, better known as the ‘Dog House Club’. Started in 1962 by the wives of the F1 drivers of the day, Bette Hill, Hazel Chapman et al, its only male member to date has been Sir Stirling Moss! More details to follow. We are also looking at holding a slot-car racing event with a purpose-built eight-lane raceway in the Napier Room one Sunday afternoon. You will be able to enter the races as individuals or as a team. Watch this space! To finish I would like to thank all of the members of the Talks and Fast Track Teams: Yvette Bolton, James Taylor, Tim Morris, Gareth Tarr, John O’Dell, David Norfolk, Mel Goodworth, Cliff Bolton, Peter Maskell, Mark Jarman, Jeni Larwood, Robin Cordrey, Pat McKin- ley and Colin Edwards, without whom none of the talks and events would have taken place. But, also, a big thank you to you all for supporting us and we look forward to seeing you in 2017. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Steve Clarke and the Talks Team

Members, which is where we came in on this special link-up with Morgan. Since 2013 we have been on the lookout for these limited editions at every Morgan gathering and we have not been disappointed as there are usually examples of both to be found in the Paddock. This year, though, there were no three-wheelers and only two roadsters. We bumped into Zane Jackson who was the owner of one of these cars and although he had enjoyed his free year’s member- ship he had not renewed, until that day! It’s great
