relaunched daily, and Bob was busy on another contract which, understandably, he wanted to finish before he started Leonie. Being in Greece is a bittersweet experience. The


apartment was on the beach, the days were sunny and warm and Leonie was nearby, but we felt a million miles away from our floating home. We cleared out a lot of our stuff and put it into storage


to give Bob space to work. We discovered 12 cracked oak frames and Bob later uncovered another six when he began dismantling the portside cockpit. To stop the rain leaking in after she was damaged,


Leonie had been covered and unaired. she was mouldy and stinking so cleaning and painting her interior was


the next task. Leonie was out of the water and, being a wooden


boat, in danger of opening up in the hot sun. We were grateful when Yannis, the yard owner, said Leonie could move into the shed. Bob started work the next day and we moved back


onto Leonie a week later as staying ashore was eating up our hard earned savings. It’s not easy living on a small boat in a hot dusty shed, with no water or gas to cook with, especially at 4pm when the yard lads start up their daily earsplitting metal grinding work. It didn’t help when Bob dismantled the floor to fix

With no floor and nowhere to sit we were overjoyed to meet up with south Hams friends Guy and Chloe savage and their 18-month-old son Logan who are spending the summer cruising the islands in their 40foot Jeanneau yacht.
