Sound recordings can be very powerful. This is partly because the ways in which we say things (our tone, emphasis, etc.) add meaning to the words we use and, when written down, this meaning can be lost. Read the question and answer below:

OK. We do lots of large group work. I’m pretty confident about that...”

Many people have tablets, phones and laptops that enable them to record sound. The recording you heard above was made using an online tool called Audioboo, which you can embed into Blogs, as well as share with others using a hyperlink. (You can read about blogging in Chapter 8.)


Another useful online tool for recording and sharing sound is Soundcloud. You can download Soundcloud files and embed them, for example, into presentations and online noticeboards (See Chapter 6 for more information about noticeboards).
