London-based independently owned gym chain Soho Gyms has completed refurbishment works at five of its six clubs in the capital. According to managing


director Michael Crockett, the upgrading of the club portfolio is part of a restrengthening of the Soho Gyms brand. Speaking to Health Club


Management, he said: “We decided to position ourselves at the lower end of the high- end market. As part of that decision, we made it a priority to look after the members we already have and make sure they are taken care of.” Three of the gyms – Covent Garden,

Independently-owned budget chain truGym has launched its fourth health and fitness club in Bromley, Kent. The 1,300sq m (14,000sq ft)


club, which opened in March, joins sites in Maidstone, Peterborough and Plymouth in the portfolio. The equipment at each


club has been supplied by Evolution Fitness. All truGyms are open
