The advance evolution
Like a finely honed wild animal built for perform- ance, Advance - the new compact MVHR from Itho is meticulously tuned, high performance and with a Specific Fan Power (SFP) as low as 0.37 w/l/s, which easily outruns all of its competitors. Ideal for 2/3 bedroom apartments and houses, the SAP Appendix Q Eligible Advance is EST Best Practice Compliant for up to a Kitchen plus four wet rooms. Smaller and lighter than its big brother, the HRU ECO 4, the Advance is designed for in- stallation on walls and ceilings. Measuring just 595mm wide x 280mm deep x 700mm high, the SFP results demonstrate that this powerful little unit will give better results in the SAP Appendix Q. The unique mounting frame of the Advance with 125mm easy fit spigots with rubber seals makes this one of the simplest installations around, and the fil- ters are easily accessible from the front of the unit without the use of tools for its annual maintenance check. The Advance Plus gives the added benefits of automatic 100 per cent Summer Bypass and an
Designing carpets with the city in mind
New carpets from ege have been designed to conjure attention and create attitude. Pia Nor- gaard Pedersen commented; “The collection is created to generate a stir. We have taken some significant choices about the patterns and colours, resulting in carpets that capture the room to a higher degree than usual. The huge patterns call for space and movement that is why the collection is suited to larger rooms with lots of activities going on. The design and vibrant

colours are well suited for bar, club and lounge environments, but the collectin is also an inter- esting solution in large open spaces with a constant flow, like, for example airports or railways stations.” On the Move is the second collefction from the Design Spot Concept, which is based on current fashion, trends, arts and cul- ture. On the Move includes names such as Pulse, Vibrate, Beat, Shake and Spin, which captivate the idea of motion and music in their designs.

Alfa Laval has launched “U-turn”, a new concept in flooded evaporator module design. The module has a liquid separator especially designed for the use with plate heat exchangers (PHE’s) in ammonia appli- cations. The concept is prepared to be used with all required fittings and accessories like safety valve arrangement and level control. Compared to traditional technology the flooded evaporator module is lightweight and compact in design. Its vertical rise is also less than in traditional solutions. The compactness makes it easy to install in containers or to move it in to site through standard sized doors for machinery rooms. This makes it a ready to install module. Both models with adopted U-Turn lengths cover ammonia capacities from 200 to 1400 kW at 0ºC evaporation and from 50 to 500 kWE at -40ºC evaporation. No evaporator can operate at such small LMTD as the Alfa Laval PHE. The U-turn ensures that effi- ciency is not lost due to too small liquid column or incorrect pressure drop.
