lica has unveiled a new range of hoods that tap into the growing trend in ‘urban style’
kitchen furniture. These include Shining, the next generation of
award winning Elica suspended hoods. Shining is offered in a new range of finishes – shiny copper; cast iron; rust and Peltrox - a treated metal that looks machined steel, making it suitable for a wide range of kitchen environments, from classic to contemporary as well as industrial to urban. Shining is fitted with sensors, which enable the
hood to detect the quality and quantity of cooking fumes present in the kitchen and set the level of extraction required. The extractor is suspended from cables so can
easily be installed anywhere - near a wall or over an island or peninsular. It incorporates diffused LED lighting across the cooking area and features a new high performing odour filter, A Class energy efficiency and can be connected by Wi-Fi with Elica’s SNAP air balancer. SNAP is designed to help keep the air in the home
fresh and clean. It uses cutting edge technology to monitor air quality, is part of the “Internet of Things” and can interact and communicate with other devices. SNAP has three sensors that measure
air quality, temperature and humidity and can automatically activate air exchange when measured levels fall below the optimal. In just 30 minutes, Snap circulates 25 cubic metres of air. Also new is Interstellar, another suspended hood,
whose remarkable character makes it the focal point of any space. Developed from the iconic design of Star and
Celestial, Interstellar mixes mirrored polished steel and more than 1000 individual pieces of glass which refract the light, making it full of sparkling colour and creating a one of a kind atmosphere. LED lighting provides direct light onto the cooktop and also ambient brightness for the kitchen. A sensor in the hood, automatically detects the quantity and quality of vapours emitted by your cooking adjusting the extraction as required. With full remote control and a high performance new generation odour filter, Interstellar is available with either clear or black glass. Both Interstellar and Shining are part of the new
Téchne product line. Hoods in the Technè family feature a range of technologies: sensors that automatically detect the quantity and quality of vapours and adjust the hood’s performance, the Tune White function that enables users to set the tint of the LED light to match that of the other lighting in
the kitchen, A class or better energy rating, and high performance filters that can be regenerated.
