business! Unlimited Snow confirms
first park for Oman
ou’ve probably seen Unlimited Snow at the trade shows and wondered exactly where in the world its snow parks and attractions might be appearing. Well
happily for boss Kees Albers, there’s plenty of projects on the horizon right now. “Everyone wants a snow park at the same time,” smiles the Dutchman. “We’ve got five projects in China, two in the Middle East, and several more prospects. We are the only one-stop shop in the world for snow and ice amusements, so our clients usually find us pretty easily.” Scheduled to open in early 2017, Unlimited Snow’s first
big project will be the imaginatively titled Snow Park at the Palm Mall in Oman. Spread across an area of approximately 8,000 sq m will be 20 snow and ice attractions including snowmobiles, bumper cars on ice, skating, climbing, snow

ball throwing, tube slides, caving, a 3D theatre, live show, F&B etc. The park will also include a 30 camera system from Unlimited Snow’s sister company TapeMyDay, allowing guests to buy or download a personalised video souvenir of their experience. “It will be a real showcase for us,” highlights Albers,
adding that his ultimate client is the Sultan of Oman. Snow Park will be joined at the Palm Mall by other leisure offerings including an aquarium. In an attempt to demonstrate some environmental responsibility, initiatives such as recycled water and solar power will be employed. Unlimited Snow, which recently opened a Chinese office, has also provided the masterplan and detailed design for the 65,000 sq m Winter Land coming to Shanghai. Located close to the city’s Disneyland and Happy Valley parks in Pudong, this will be the largest facility of its kind in the world, featuring also a ski slope, hotels and residential accommodation, in addition to an indoor theme park, theatres and retail. Opening is scheduled for 2018/19.
