AWARDS PREVIEW
Travel 2 managing director Andy Freeth and the Agent Achievement Awards have a long history, with him having hosted the biggest celebration of UK travel sellers on several occasions. We spoke to Andy about Travel 2’s headline sponsorship of this year’s AAAs
Q Tell us why you are involved in the 2015 Agent Achievement Awards? A As a trade-only operator, the AAAs are the first date we mark in our calendars each year. It’s the only event that truly celebrates travel agents’ achievements. We work exclusively in partnership with independent agents, so their successes are our successes. We want to support an event that recognises the people who make the travel trade the exceptional industry that it is.
Q Give us an idea of where the trade sits in Travel 2’s strategy. A Travel agents to Travel 2 are like B&Q to Christian Grey – we couldn’t survive without them! On a more serious note, they are our only distribution
channel and we are proud to work exclusively with our agent partners.
Q What are the big events or products that you will be promoting around the AAAs in July? A The main focuses for Travel 2 are the continued development of our Cruise Plus and Simply Luxury brands, which are both performing exceptionally well, thanks to support from the trade. We are also continually updating our website functionality and striving to ensure that the overall service to travel agents is second to none.
Q Winning an AAA is a huge honour for agents. How has it felt when you’ve won awards? A One thing we never take for granted is winning an award, especially those that are voted for
