Norman Foster to design new Mexico City airport Mexico plans to build a $9.2 billion international airport in Mexico City capable of handling 120 million passengers a year. The facility will be built adjacent to the existing Benito Juarez airport and will quadruple capacity. British architect Norman Foster, whose previous airport projects have included Stansted, Chek Lap Kok and Beijing Capital International, will be one of the two designers.

KLM to start flights to two Colombian cities in March KLM is to start a scheduled service from Amsterdam to Colombia’s capital, Bogota, and Cali, the country’s third-largest city. From March 31, 2015, KLM will fly three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – to Bogota and Cali, returning directly to Amsterdam.

Heathrow awarded ‘China Welcome’ charter Heathrow has been awarded a charter mark declaring it fit to welcome Chinese visitors. The Great China Welcome Charter, given out by VisitBritain, has been awarded to more than 200 UK tourist facilities that provide information in Chinese and adapt their product to Chinese tourists.
