judges faced an incredibly tough job picking the winners from some outstanding entries. There were some fierce debates, but ultimately they selected shortlists of photos which grabbed their attention and also showcased the great industry we work in.” Overall winner Christine Griffiths, manager of Bath Travel in Shaftesbury, said she was “dumbfounded” to have won. Her winning entry was taken during a camel train expedition in Jordan’s Wadi Rum.

“I took about 7,000 photos that trip,” she recalled. “For this particular shot, I was on the camel behind and he just turned around. It was just a brief, opportune moment but I was ready and I took it.”

competition means so, so much. I am totally floored but so incredibly happy. “I love taking photos and will hang out of windows or whatever it takes to get the best one. “I’ve even had someone holding on to my ankles once to get the perfect shot!”

Dunlop, who will give Christine

a day’s workshop as part of her prize, said: “Technically, the winning picture is properly exposed and dead in focus, which actually isn’t that easy in that sort of light where you have real contrast between brightness and shadow. were of a very high quality and it was really refreshing to see some

iconic places around the world photographed differently.” Johnson, who will present the winner with a six-night Caribbean cruise for two, said: “The competition was a perfect fit with our own ‘Moments that Matter’ campaign, which is why we were delighted to be involved. “The entries were all moments that mattered to the entrants and were a great reflection of what our campaign was all about – that holidays can give people lasting memories to savour.” Ioannou added: “In an era of smartphones and selfies, it was great to see people using a range of equipment and taking the time to create some really impressive images. There are clearly some very talented photographers working in the travel industry.”
