Owlett-Jaton announces distribution agreement
with PennEngineering® Owlett-Jaton, a UK supplier of fasteners and fixings to the distributor and merchant trade, has added to its expanding portfolio of products by announcing a distribution agreement with PennEngineering®
to
distribute the PEM® brand of products in the UK – supported by the launch of its new PEM® brand self-clinch fasteners catalogue.
F
ollowing on from its comprehensive brochure of its products range – ‘The Catalogue’ – Owlett-Jaton has teamed up with PennEngineering® product list of PEM®
to create a core brand self-clinching fasteners. PEM brand fasteners utilise self-clinching, broaching, flaring,
surface mount or weld technology to provide strong, reusable, and permanent threads and mounting points in thin sheet metal or printed circuit board materials.
Self-clinching fasteners provide strong
threads or attachment in metal as thin as 0.5mm. They can be installed using the PEMSERTER®
press system or any parallel
acting squeezing force. PEMSERTER presses are designed to safely, reliably, accurately, and quickly install PEM fasteners. The new Owlett-Jaton catalogue will include a selection of PEM products including the especially hardened self-clinching Type SP nuts for installation into stainless steel sheets. Other products in the catalogue include the S, SS, CLS and CLSS classification of self-clinching nuts, which provide load-bearing threads in thin sheets with high push-out and torque-out resistances. The TPS flush head pilot pins and the FH flush head studs also have high push out and torque-out resistances. The catalogue has useful hints and tips
for merchants looking to save time using the fasteners. The products are easily located and identifiable for the needs of the distributor or merchant. PennEngineering’s goal is 100% defect
free products. To this end, it has adopted a manufacturing strategy of defect prevention rather than defect detection. Using statistical tools throughout the
manufacturing process, it monitors the performance and assures effective quality control of each process. If a non-conforming situation arises, it is resolved immediately with the use of appropriate quality assurance tools. Andrew Middleton, European sales manager at
PennEngineering, said: “The addition of Owlett-Jaton as a UK authorised distributor for PEM brand products is an integral part
60
of our strategy to make our core product lines accessible to the independent distributor network in the UK. As the UK’s leading supplier to the independent fastener distributor, we view Owlett-Jaton as the ideal partner to support this strategy, and we are excited at the possibilities the partnership will bring to both organisations.” Martin Rundle, marketing manager at Owlett-Jaton, commented:
“PennEngineering creates market leading self-clinching fasteners and we are delighted to extend our portfolio of products with the PEM brand products, supported by our new catalogue. Our brands are at the top of the UK market and the addition of PEM to the product range will bring further strength to what we can offer merchants and distributors.”
“ PennEngineering® creates market leading self-clinching fasteners and we are delighted to extend our portfolio of products with the PEM®
Martin added: “We have had a fantastic response since we
issued ‘The Catalogue’ and the range from PennEngineering is exceptional in quality. The product range can be ordered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with next day delivery available through our trade website – OJ Trade.” OJ Trade allows existing and verified Owlett-Jaton customers
to log in and access the company's extensive product portfolio. The OJ Trade website also enables merchants and distributors to view products that are tailored to their needs.
