Taiwan to audit fastener certificates of origin July measures will be introduced to strictly

The new measure appears to be a reaction to requests from European distribution organisations and Taiwanese fastener associations for Taiwanese authorities to take concrete action to stem suspected transshipment of Chinese originated fasteners via the country to European
importers seeking to evade EU anti-dumping duties. Both Taiwanese fastener associations have been adamant that their members and legitimate Taiwanese factories are not involved in circumvention. Chinese originated fasteners are believed to have been entering Taiwan illegally under fraudulent TARIC codes before being re-exported to the EU.
U-Chance launches high strength magnesium alloy screws
Using warm forging technology U-Chance has successfully developed a series of magnesium alloy screws, as well as 7075 high strength aluminium alloy screws.

aerospace market. China Steel Corporation’s introduction of titanium wire to its range has further facilitated the company’s development of exotic alloy fasteners.
Gem-Year entering Chinese hardware market
Gem-Year told Fastener World it has entered the Chinese domestic hardware market by introducing production of pneumatic tools, power tools and abrasives.

China Steel maintains wire prices for July/August

Boltun Corporation world’s largest weld nut plant
Boltun manufactures in both Taiwan and China and has an annual capacity for weld nuts of 100,000 tonnes, which equates, the company says, to 9% of the global market requirement.
astener World reports that Boltun has become the largest weld nut maker in the world with annual revenue of TW$11 billion. Major customers include Volkswagen, Ford, Chrysler, GM, and Mercedes-Benz.
Boltun started its business by targeting car OEM markets.
Its weld nuts have evolved from an initial 40 types to over 3,000. The company has extended its cold forging technology into other products including automotive nuts, bolts, screws, shaped pieces, stamped parts, and multi-combination parts. Further recent investments have increased Boltun’s manufacturing capacity and developed its ability to produce large fasteners for wind energy applications, as well as precision de-waxed cast parts and hydraulically formed parts.
