Fastener Fair panel discussion attracts interest
At Fastener Fair Russia in May a panel discussion took place on ‘Fasteners for industrial and civil construction, bridge building and metal constructions’.
focused on the special features of testing of fasteners used in construction of buildings and facilities. Savinov Roman Igorevich, specialist of the department of physical and mechanical testing of Melitek Company, introduced modern solutions for quality control of fasteners. Sotskov Nikolay Ivanovich, head of the laboratory at Melnikov Central Research and Design Institute of Steel Building Structures, shared experience in using high-tensile bolts with protective coverings in industrial and civil construction and bridge building. An analysis of grade 10.9 high-tensile bolts while being torqued using a tension indicating wrench was presented by Rostovykh Grigoriy Nikolayevich, senior technician of the Science and Research Institute of Bridges. Johan Scholz, the CEO of KÖCO-Rus, spoke about the use of fasteners in bridge building and high-level construction.
