Planes of Toledo 2014


Daniel Lee Grotzinger placed first in Vintage with this Goldberg Shoestring (above left) in an attractive alternate color scheme. The Tri-Squireis one of RC’s earliest designs and looks the part of a quintessential model airplane. Charles Chomos’ Tri-Squire (above right) received a second in Vintage. This bright


deBolt Rebel(below left) was built by Eugene Gottschalk. Eugene came in all the way from San Diego, California and went home with third in Vintage. A nicely constructed and trimmed Airknocker (below right) by Piednoir Jean-Marie, complete with a 1.8 cc diesel engine.


Keith Shaw placed first in Non-Military Sport Scale as well as earning the Best Film Finish with his Sausewind (above) German racer of 1925. Keith did a great job replicating the Lawrance L-4 engine (at right). Robert Benson placed second in Non-Military Sport Scale with his large scale Cessna 150 Aerobat (below left). A aircraft not usually seen modeled (below right), Gerald Sanderson’s Alexander Eaglerockplaced third in the Non-Military Sport Scale category.
