There was no way to miss Cal Branton’s second place B-17F, Memphis Belle in Military Sport Scale (above). The model, built from a Wingspan Models kit, spans a whooping 17 feet, which allowed Cal a large canvas to give the model the proper nose art (at right, top) complete with the Belle herself. The Pratt and Whitney radial engines (at right, above) are so detailed, one can just smell the oil and


Avgas. Peter Howe placed a solid third in the category with his Harvard Mk. IV (below left). That’s a Texanfor us Yanks. The finish Peter applied to his model really established the look of a well-used, yet maintained aircraft. Greg Wright built a great looking P-47D Thunderbolt display (below right) complete with a scale Willy’s MB and crew.
