An array of spectacular Christmas displays all bringing magic and festive fun to our high streets this year.
These magical windows display oversized replicas of most wanted gifts, set in a stunning Christmas scene, framed by a green hedge with twinkling fairy lights. The windows capture the essence of Christmas while also bringing to the forefront idealised gifts desired by many people. The gifts include the Kenzo sweatshirt, the Mixr headphones by Beats by Dre and even Play Doh for kids.
The windows also feature a giant gingerbread model of a fantasy version of London. The model includes iconic buildings which over the years have been destroyed and others which were designed but never built. This includes the controversial National Gallery extension by Lord Rodgers. Gingerbread houses are the ultimate Christmas icon and to link this back to London is an intriguing and engaging idea. The gingerbread reproduction was designed in collaboration with food architects Bompas & Parr, Biscuiteers and Tate Lyle. The Wish List windows is part of Selfridges introducing its biggest ever Christmas retail launch with Destination Christmas, showcasing the store’s largest ever gift selection and bespoke Christmas services from 24 October.
