12:10pm | Retail – Lighting Talk Live. LEDs in retail: Hit or miss? The first wave of LED lighting installations in the retail sector has proved to be a mixed bag. What’s gone wrong and what’s gone right? Panellists include Tony Beale of L’Oreal, Rob Scoulding of Co‐ Op, Dave Tilley of Lux magazine, John Chamberlin of Microlights and Mary Rushton‐Beales of Lighting Design House.


2.30pm | Retail – Project Uncovered: Superdry, Regent Street This flagship of the successful fashion chain features a dramatically different lighting treatment. Here accent‐only illumination makes the merchandise the hero, appeals to the brand’s key demographic and keeps energy use down. The designer Paul Nulty of PNLD talks us through the scheme.


3.00pm | Retail – How to light fashion Phil Caton of PJC Light Studio – whose recent work includes the Denim Studio at Selfridges and the Christian Louboutin concession at Harrods – discusses the special requirements of lighting fashion.


Lighting plays a pivotal role in the retail industry, as it can enhance and brighten existing displays and reduce energy, making LuxLive a must attend for retail professionals!
