future‐proof twist that is rightly described as ‘close to perfection’. It opened in September 2012, but it took until January 2013 for Burberry to find a flag‐maker fit for the job. Once they realised that Piggotts have been making flags for over 200 years there was no hesitation in entrusting Piggotts with the hand‐embroidered design which was to be made using the cotton from the Burberry mill. The final result was four imposing flags capturing the brand, so that while two are flying, two can be maintained and cleaned.

Harrods has announced that it is to become the first British retailer to launch an official WeChat (Weixin) account. Building on the success of Harrods official Weibo account, the social media platform will give user’s access to the latest Harrods content and the opportunity to connect directly with the world’s most famous department store.
