Shopfitting

In the battle to keep consumers returning to the high street, rather than shop online, many stores are looking to more innovative and interesting ideas. Levi’s flagship store was re‐launched in 2010. The store was designed and fitted by the CDS Group. The main idea behind the relaunch was to create a space that could be used as a gallery, creating monthly tech‐led installations. The main store was designed to bring the authenticity of the denim to life through the use of factory inspired architecture and industrial style fixings.

The monthly temporary installations allowed the story of Levi’s to be told in an ever changing story. It made the store innovative and engaging as consumers knew that when returning they could expect something new. CDS sister company Lucky Fox, designed and manufactured several of these monthly installments.

In September 2013 Levi’s introduced their Frontier campaign. ‘Equipped for the Modern Frontier' features a mix of bespoke large format light boxes, illuminated product plinths and LED screen 'kiosk' units. The installation shows the new global black and white imagery from Levi’s current ad campaign and the 'The Future is Leaving, #makeourmark' tagline. Lucky Fox also created installations for January, February and July 2013 along with the opening installation.

after a relatively short period of time. As Levi’s changes the tech displays each month, we’ve had the freedom to innovate and experiment with different ways to communicate with customers which has resulted in what we believe to be some of our best work.” Stores that integrate technology in clever and innovative ways will see a higher footfall and their repeat customers increase. The best use of technology seems to be those that incorporate social media, allowing consumers to communicate their experiences in store with their peers and social circle. I feel that these enhancements are only going to make our shopping experience more immersive and enjoyable. I personally, look forward to seeing what retailers come up with next!
