TC activewearʼs former joint managing directors, Glenn Hyams and Charles Grose stepped down at the end of 2012, after many years helping to build the successful multi- brand distribution business. Glenn founded the British T-shirt Company that became BTC activewear in the 1990s, partnering with Steve Pope, Charles Grose and a fourth partner.
BTC was initially a group of companies operating under one banner sharing a distribution centre and after 2005, they amalgamated to become one business with regional sales offices and a national distribution centre in the West Midlands.
Glenn, Charles and Steve collectively provided stewardship for the business as joint managing directors.
In 2010, BTC activewear joined the Falk & Ross Group, becoming a significant part of Europeʼs largest multi-brand distributorship. Glenn and Charles then took up various group responsibilities and Steve became sole managing director of BTC activewear. Both Glenn and Charles are now stepping down from their roles and taking on new opportunities. Steve comments: “Glenn and Charles are both
big characters and will be missed by everyone at BTC. They will both be interested to watch the companyʼs future development and intend to still be involved in the industry to some extent, so we expect to still see them about. We wish them all the very best for the future.” Steve Pope will continue as managing director assisted by national sales managers Neil Pitcher and Phil Roberts and a management team based at the head office in Wednesbury, West Midlands. A recent appointment to this team is operations manager, Steve Frost, who brings a wealth of experience from previous positions in major retail and automotive DC environments. BTC has also announced the relocation of their London & South East sales team to new offices with a showroom in Mill Hill, north London. Rob Taylor, manager of the BTC London office said: “BTC was built on putting the customer first and offering knowledgeable, local teams. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new to our fantastic new building.”

YES Ltd forecasts warm reception for the Blizzard Y
ES Ltd is about to launch the latest in pre-treat technology, a new pre-treat machine called The Blizzard. The new machine has a fully enclosed spraying area so the risk of air-born particles contaminating other areas is solved and, with the fully enclosed garment holding section, garment areas not to be printed are also protected. To minimise the amount of pre-treat fluid used the stroke can be adjusted so that only the
area to be printed is treated. The amount of pre-treat laid down is also strictly controlled resulting in a reduction in the amount of fluid used when compared with the manual method. The new model also has a purging system not only simplifying the cleaning process but also saving time.
The Blizzard can be seen at this monthʼs Printwear & Promotion LIVE in Hall 12, at the NEC, Birmingham, from February 24-26. ■ Visit
