BPMA appoints two new board members

he bpma (British Promotional Merchandise Association) has appointed Viv Blumfield and


education programme, as, during my career in the industry, I have never been able to attain a qualification to prove my capability, but now promo-marketers will have that opportunity.


Chairman, Neal Beagles commented:


“We are delighted to welcome two well known industry figures to the bpma board and we look forward to working with both Viv and Angela.” For the last 33 years, Viv Blumfield has enjoyed managing two successful distributor companies and is still as passionate about the promotional merchandise industry today as she was in 1979.


She said: “I am proud to be a member of the bpma and am keen to use my 33 yearsʼ experience to raise the profile of promotional merchandise to end-users and help achieve the industryʼs target of £3bn.

She said: “As a beneficiary of the bpmaʼs excellent support and guidance over the past 13 years, I feel privileged to have been asked to join the board. This will enable me to give others the benefit of my professional experience gained from within both the marketing industry and as a trainer/assessor.


“I feel it is vital that we all strive to maintain the integrity of our industry so that we can all enjoy the anticipated growth.”


Expertise shared at Spandex Open House S


pandex, the one-stop supplier of innovative solutions to the digital printing and signmaking industries welcomed hundreds of customers through their doors during the recent two- day Open House.


The event, held in the UK headquarters in Bristol highlighted the latest trends and innovations for the printing and signmaking industries.


With 540 visitors, 22 stands, three vehicle wrapping booths and 18 pieces of print and production equipment on demonstration, this year's Open House has proved to be the most successful Spandex event yet. "We had the largest number of product launches than any previous event," says Leon Watson, general manager. "Feedback from customers and suppliers has been extremely positive.” The Open House was the ideal platform to launch two new strategic elements that

will make doing business with Spandex even easier: 'Essentials', Spandex' new Product Guide; and Worksmart, Clarity's bespoke Management Information Software. The Worksmart software links with all products within the Essentials Guide, allowing users to quickly develop an accurate quotation tracking system to help build a more successful and profitable business. Visitors experienced live hands-on demonstrations of 18 pieces of print and production equipment including the new Epson SC-70000, Roland VersaCamm VS-640, Summa F Series flatbed cutting plotter and Rollsroller Flatbed Applicator. Visitors also had direct access to the industry's leading brands exhibiting at the event. Other highlights were Cat Young's conference on 'Do it Yourself Digital Marketing' which covered the popular topic of Social Media, as well as a range of hands-on workshops.
