*DEFINITION OF ‘BUNKERING’: the transfer of liquid hydrocarbons, intended for the main propulsion and/or operation of the auxiliary machinery of a vessel, or a liquid intended for lubricating the vessel’s engine or her other machinery. So, nothing to do with polo, or protective fortifications then?

Faisal Al Rifai started the goal scoring for the Stagshead team. Prince Esiri took FAL Group ahead in the third quarter. Saving the best for last, in the fourth chukka both teams were evenly matched until the last bell found the FAL Group half a goal down.

The FAL Group Team, as hosts, was being polite and let the other team win.

Commentary from Freddie Ventura added enjoyment to the match, especially for those watching the match for the very fi rst time.

The younger guests had pony rides, face painting and teddy bears. The adults could choose to take part in the half time treading in (so aptly named). As always, these events would not be so successful without the back up of everyone behind the scenes at Ham Polo Club and, of course, the players.

The FAL Team look forward to the 2011 season when they can stop being polite and win and to many more FAL Trophy matches when polo, combined with oil, mixes very well.
