THE GUESTLIST NETWORK | SEPTEMBER 2010 Last months hottest! Grace Jones @ Lovebox

their huge Summer anthem ‘Bright Lights’. Other DJ’s on the night were Krust, Artifi- cial Intelligence and Jumpin Jack Frost joining the origi- nal junglist and V Records boss Bryan Gee in the main room. Downstairs Jordon V hosted the ‘Does Anyone Like Good Music?’ room. This was one big party and The Guestlist Network were raving all night!

Plastic People Plastic People smashed it on Friday 6th August, Barry Arson and Danny Curfew presented P.P.1 at Plastic People. The place was bus- tling as soon as we reached the club, Kode 9 was drop- ping the beats and Pokes was on the mic getting the crowd lively. This night was hot, hot, hot and if you were in there you know what I’m talking about ‘Sweat Box of London!’ as it was called by Pokes. Oneman, Braiden, Bok Bok and Loefah all

played big sets and apart from the heat this was defi- nitely a heavy night.

Love Fever Wolf & Lamb We ventured up the road in Hackney where Gadi rocked the crowd at this crazy warehouse party at Dalston on Saturday 21st August. We could see and hear the party was happening before we even got there - there’s something about ware- house parties that we love! With the laid back security, wicked old skool vibes and

hyped crowd warehouse parties are definitely the fu- ture for raving.

Fabric Results Party Some of us were dreading it, some of us couldn’t wait to hear - whatever your feeling was, we were all at least thinking about Thurs- day 19th August - results day. Whatever the outcome, good or bad, everyone was looking for a good night. I headed down to Fabric, the vibes were awesome, the music was pumping and

Quick News D&G Yacht

When you are rich you can buy a mega yacht and enjoy your holidays in every remote corner of the world. That ‘s just what the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are doing. Ste- fano mounted a large inflatable slide for his child to have fun on!. The yacht fur- nishings are very sophisticated, however there is no pool because for the design- ers it seemed silly to have a pool when you can enjoy the sea of the ocean. It doesn’t have everything though, they left a helicopter pad out of the design so keep a beady eye out at any Marina for the 51 metre show piece as Land is the only way they will be disembarking (I’m sure you won’t miss the silver paradise). Celebrity guests on the Regina D’Italia include the likes of supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. So who’s next? Watch out for The Guestlist Net- work showing Dolce and Gabanna how to PARTY the TGN way!

Sumo

Japan’s ancient sport of sumo is em- bracing the latest technology, with its governing body set to distribute iP- ads to wrestlers who often struggle with smaller mobile phone keypads because of their giant hands. Now, the sumo association says it will hand out iPads to Japan’s 51 ‘stables’, with the aim of improving communication among the roly-poly grapplers, after some in the past had missed informa- tion sent by fax or telephone. Lets hope the sumo’s like the iPad and don’t get too obsessed at playing angry birds! The iPad could pose as a serious problem to their training as all they will want to do is play on it! The iPad keeps you entertained for hours, especially poor sumo wrestlers who have been deprived from Playstation, Xbox, Gameboy and Nintendo’s due to the nature of their hands. If you want an iPad then why not... Get your sumo on!

Drive thru Sex?

German cities like Essen, Zurich and Cologne have had a police spokesper- son state that prostitution isn’t going to be stopped so it should be controlled! The cities are starting a drive through sex service! With special sex stop ga- rage things! The idea was thought of after a massive number of complaints from members of the public living so close to the red light district. It is a 24 hour business, which doesn’t give a produce a nice view for elderly couples and families with children looking out their windows! The Sex garages are in a secluded area and will be much more discrete so members of the general public will not be disturbed by the noise or sexual sights. Just like a 24 hour McDonald’s where you drive through get what you want and leave - all from the comfort of your car! Hmm.. I think I would rather the McDonald’s! But as for you boys... Burgers or Baps?

the drinks were flowing un- til 6am when the last of us were dragged out to con- tinue the party elsewhere!

Planet V- Carnival Sun- splash Special at Plan B On the carnival weekend we headed down to Plan B on Friday 27th August to witness the special one- off carnival party. The vibes were buzzing and everyone was in the carnival spirit! DJ Die brought vocalist Wil- liam Cartwright with him for a debut performance of

Dead Prez On 30th August we topped off the bank holiday week- end with a high..Dead Prez at The Forum in Kentish Town. The gig was support- ed by some of the brightest and best UK hip-hop tal- ent: Skinnyman, Akala and Sway. The RBG soldiers got the crowd hyped and put on an amazing performance with classic songs such as ‘Mind Sex’ and ‘Hip-Hop’ M1. And Stic completely rocked the party; although we have seen them a few times over the last few years (including when The Guestlist Network brought them over here for a Eu- ropean tour in 2006) you would of thought this was their first performance in London. Full of energy and for the crowd this was an unmissable night.
