THE GUESTLIST NETWORK | JULY 2010 Last months hottest! Basement Jaxx @ Brixton Jamm

Obviously though the night belonged to Mr C who as per usual featured his right hand man GQ , with both of them giving the performance that was expected, ridiculously quick mixing and new and fresh tunes left right and centre, it was a surprisingly sick night!

DNBTV Sunbeatz @ East Village

Renegade Hardware @ Area

Renegade Hardware was back once again last month with a lineup that was a sight for sore eyes featuring the usual culprits such as C4C, Loxy, Ink and Raiden all headlining in room 1. I actually was making the most of the house being played in room 3, then 2am came and Rockwell came into the room 2 and utterly smashed it, he cleared room 1 in fact, the highlight set of the night without a doubt.

From then on it only went up with S.P.Y, Icicle and Khanage all taking to the decks in room 1 bringing back the fresh hardware sounds instead of the repetitive ones from earlier in the night. S.P.Y thoughtfully produced a VIP of his tune ‘Favela’ specifically for the night which went down a treat!

Bassment Jaxx @ Brixton Jamm

Bassment Jaxx headlined Brixton Jamm this month with a DJ set that was set out to be

as spectacular as the last time they played there. The wide selection of tunes and genre’s was ear pleasing. Mixing it up a bit were the likes of Andy Burby who played a mashup set which was far from disappointing, seamlessly infusing dubstep, drum and bass, techno and house with some people in the crowd thinking it was Andy C when the drums got dropped! With a mixture of dubstep, house, techno and drum and bass the night was good fun!

Quick News Snappy Smash

The British superstar George Michael was arrested in the early hours of Sun- day morning immediately after the Lon- don Gay Pride parade held in London, Soho. Apparently, the 47 year old was on his way back home when he accidentally crashed into the window of the photo store Snappy Snaps. The ex Wham star had just come to the end of a two year license ban after po- lice caught him in possession of crack and marijuana.

Once again, he has paid the price for his bad behavior, even though he had said in an interview he was to cut down on drugs. Anyone who can smash into Snappy Snaps and release a statement say- ing they’ll ‘cut down’ on the goods has got the vote of The Guestlist Network. Joker!

Snoop Dogg

After his performance at the Wire- less festival, Snoop Dogg held an after party at one of London’s poshest clubs, Merah.

The hip hop icon celebrated the af- ter party in style by booking a private room and only inviting women to join him.

With two big security guys in front of the door Snoop demanded they let in only even more women to join his party, other people were not even allowed to get near to the door. The staff were not even allowed to bring champagne in!!!!!

Despite the huge amount of money spent on Armand de Brignac cham- pagne and lots of women, Snoop Dogg ended up drinking mineral wa- ter all night long!

Viva Espana

Wooooo yeah!!! Have you heard?.... Yep, Spain have won the world cup! So why are we so excited? Well...this means more PARTIES or “FIESTA FIESTA” should I say? And obviously those Spaniards know how to do it best. With the winners spreading out on the streets singing “Yo soy Español, Español, Español” or “I’m Spanish, Spanish, Spanish” the crowd was driven wild by the sound of drums and with pride taking over the drivers pass- ing through Brick lane where they in for a bit of a treat when they received dance after customary victory dance, obstruction by the masses.

That aside, it also means that it’s over for another 4 years. So instead of watching millionaires make millions lets go and be constructive and make our own make millions.

Atom @ Cargo

Last Tuesday featured a new night in the east sides of London at Cargo in Shoreditch. The night itself featured up and coming DJ’s in the drum and bass scene. But headlining was the untouchable Andy C, once again doing what he does best. For a Tuesday night Cargo was quite busy, with the student night bringing in those from all over. The night featured the likes of Freebase, Clarky and Savage Rehab.

With DNBTV gathering a usual and multiplying following each week the live events are the ones to get down to. This time however they joined forces with the Sunbeatz crew set up by Kenny Ken and Mickey Finn to go ahead in September in Ibiza to put on a different take on DNBTV Live. Featuring Kenny Ken, DJ SS, AMC and Bryan Gee the old school and the classic jungle tunes that started the drums in the first place kicked off Shoreditch nicely. Everyone was in a happy and sunny mood, with some ridiculous dancing all in aid of the up and coming week long drums holiday featuring sun sea and sand. Big up Sophie on this one, yet another very successful and vibey night and all for free! What more could a drum and bass lover ask for?
