The 10.1-megapixel D-LUX 4 incorporates a wide angle 2.5x DC Vario-Summicron zoom lens (24-60mm equivalent), large 3” LCD display, MEGA O.I.S. Image Stabilization, Face Recognition AF/AE and full automatic and manual exposure control. Intelligent automatic mode selects the best mode from six scenes, while images and videos can be displayed on an HDTV using an optional component video cable.

The X1 is built around a large 12.2MP CMOS image sensor and a non-interchangeable, Elmarit 24mm f/2.8 ASPH wide-angle lens which creates sufficient distance when needed and also lets shooters to get in close to pick out the details in a scene. A 2.7” LCD with 230,000 pixels and a 100% field of view, almost fills the entire back of the camera and enables the Live Mode and precision focusing. Users can also view and compose their images using an optional Leica 35mm viewfinder which fits into the accessory shoe on top of the body. The camera records both JPEG and DNG file formats and users can download a copy of Adobe Lightroom to process the DNG raw files. In Automatic Mode, the camera provides set- tings for precise exposures, while analog-style manual controls are also provided to adjust shutter speed and aperture. The X1 is compact (2.4 x 4.9”) and lightweight (only 10 oz), and features a design reminiscent of M-series rangefinders.
