The FLIR Systems Fido X2 Handheld Explosives Trace Detector is the latest addition to its leading-edge Fido X-Series handheld explosives trace detectors (ETD). The Fido X2 is a cost-effective sensing instrument with best- in-class detection sensitivity. With a user-friendly interface, the Fido X2 features FLIR’s proprietary TrueTrace™ technology to quickly and accurately detect a broad range of chemicals used in the manufacture of homemade, commercial, and military explosives.
At less than 1.5 pounds and featuring a new ergonomic design, the Fido X2 is ultra-lightweight and durable for maximum por- tability. Intended to be used by state and local law enforcement agencies and fi rst responders at se- curity checkpoints or during high- alert stages, the Fido X2 screens vehicles and personal belongings for explosives residue that might indicate contact with explosives or incendiary devices. FLIR’s field-proven TrueTrace technology features a proprietary multiplexed luminescence tech- nique for sensing trace levels of ex-
identiFINDER R200
The rugged, pager-sized identiFINDER® R200 is a handheld spec- troscopic personal radiation detector (SPRD). The identiFINDER is the latest addition to its industry-leading identiFINDER R-Series handheld radiation detection and identifi cation tools. The hands-free, passive identiFINDER R200 provides continu- ous radiation monitoring during routine traffi c stops, high-visibility events, and in mass transit or critical infrastructure entry control points, without requiring any user interaction. At less than one pound, the wearable and lightweight identiFINDER R200 is fully compliant with the ANSI N42.32 Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) standard and delivers ANSI N42.48 compli- ant identifi cation.

plosive chemicals and is uniquely formulated to detect a broad range of explosives. With analysis provided in 10 seconds or less, law enforcement offi cers can quickly and accurately screen for threats to mass transit, sporting arenas, and critical infrastructure with confi dence.
The Fido X2’s guided user interface allows law enforcement to de- ploy units broadly across offi cers with minimal formal training. On- screen prompts and simple go/no-go alarms guide users through operation and aids sampling and decision-making. The Fido X2 also features on-device video training that provides real-time help and reduces the cost and logistical burden of recurrent training. “The Fido X2 is the latest FLIR product that strives to ensure public safety, and does so at a price-to-value ratio that is unprec- edented,” said Andy Teich, President and CEO of FLIR. “The ex- traordinary sensitivity of the Fido X2 means users can detect the most minute explosives residue. Additionally, its focus on ease-of- use will allow it to be deployed broadly across many applications and its low price point will allow our life-saving technology to reach a wider base of customers.” The MSRP starts at $9,995.

FLIR identiFINDER R200 radiation detector.
The identiFINDER R200 combines FLIR’s new Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) technol- ogy with a Cesium Iodide (CsI) detector to provide high-resolution identifi cation so front-line offi cers can quickly determine whether a gamma radiation source is a true threat or benign source from medical pa- tients, normal occurring radiation, or indus- trial use. The identiFINDER R200 uses this next-generation solid-state detector technol- ogy that enables fi rst responders to detect
and identify a radiological threat and then take immediate action. The identiFINDER R-series of products share a fi eld-proven, common user interface and simple data presentation. With tens of thousands of identiFINDER units deployed globally, the familiar interface design of the identiFINDER R200 allows for quick inte- gration with existing operational protocols while also reducing offi cer training time and costs. Using the latest advancements in Bluetooth® and Web server technologies, the OneTouch Reach- back™ feature provides offi cers large-scale situational awareness and enables instant notifi cations to help improve communications with command and control.
“The resolution offered by identiFINDER R200 allows fi rst re- sponders to react quickly to identifi ed threats,” said Dennis Barket, Jr., Vice President and General Manager of FLIR Detection. “The low price point of this tool will allow more agencies to deploy it, empowering a new level of protection to safeguard the communi- ties they represent.” The MSRP starts at $2,995.
