FEATURE New from the 2016 SHOT Show Sig Sauer

www.sigsauer.com The P320 from Sig is a striker-fi red, poly- mer frame pistol with modular abilities to change calibers and swap quickly from compact to full size. The new P320RX comes with Sig’s own Romeo electronic red dot sight mounted to a machined slot on the top rear of the slide. Suppressor sights mean they can be used as backup in case the bat- tery goes down on the red dot. The future of police duty pistols is here.

Sig presented a semi-automatic version of their MPX carbine (16-inch barrel) cham- bered for the 9mm pistol cartridge. The short barrel rifl e and fully automatic ver- sions are still available for police use. This civilian version will be simpler for individ- ual offi cers to purchase for law enforcement use if they desire a pistol caliber carbine.

Smith & Wesson

www.smith-wesson.com With an MSRP of just $409, the new SW22 Victory 22 Long Rifl e target pistol is a rea- sonably priced option for law enforcement instructors: the stainless-steel frame, match barrel (crowned), adjustable rear sight, pair of 10-shot magazines, and a target trigger. Sometimes a .22-caliber pistol is a great training tool since it takes recoil and muzzle blast out of the equation and allows focus on the teaching points of sight align- ment and trigger press. Without a hammer or double action trigger, this Victory pistol can stand in with similar operation for most striker-fi red duty pistols.

Streamlight

www.streamlight.com Streamlight now provides several smaller tactical lights to fi t tiny, short-barrel backup and off-duty pistols equipped with shorter Picatinny rails. The TLR-6 Compact is a subcompact tactical light (100-Lumens) with integrated red aiming laser made to fi t models for the Glock 42 and 43, S&W Shield, Sig Sauer, Kimber, Kahr, and simi- lar small 380 or 9mm pistols are available.

SureFire

www.surefire.com SureFire introduced a number of new handheld, pistol-mounted, and rifle- mounted lights, and added new technol- ogy to some previously existing lights.

58 LAW and ORDER I March 2016

IntelliBeam is new to P2X, P3X, Scout and R1 Lawman. Lots of attention was on the XC1 weapon light. The XC1 was not designed for tiny guns, but was de- signed to be tiny. In fact, it is designed for mid-size guns carried off-duty, in

cases where the X300 extends beyond the barrel. The Sidekick (key fob) light is surprisingly practical. SureFire has also upgraded the output on some of their combination IR/white lights like the M600AAV Scout.
