ALUMNI THEN & NOW
As the MS started to progress, my wife and I felt the Lord was asking us to step out of my role at the church and enter a season of rest. We were able to spend some time getting used to the correct ways to fight and growing our little family. Our Psalm 46 year of “Be Still” helped me realize that we can only really conquer from a place of surrender. We didn’t know what was next but be we knew we trusted the Lord with it all. I stepped in at the end of last year to work with the Development Department here at WJU in a
temporary role as my friend Heather was headed out on maternity leave. I felt the same way as I did that first time I walked up the ramp. I felt alive, like it was a community where I could thrive again. Today, things are going well in my MS fight and we are so excited for what’s… NOW. It is from a place of great excitement and a humble awe that I bring some news about my role here
at the University. Thanks to the support of leadership and continued growth, we were able to remove the word “temporary.” After joining University Development in the “temporary” role of Alumni/Parent Relations Officer, I’ve now become a permanent fixture, shifting my focus to Church Relations. I am thrilled to serve alongside the Director of Church Relations, Jim Jessup. My focus will be Youth
Ministries with the purpose of cultivating relationships with youth pastors. Having served as a Youth Pastor those 7 1/2 years it is my hope to serve our current youth pastors and "Youth Culture" with a sense of relatability and understanding. I love our Jessup team and our Church relationships, and am excited to be a part of the Jessup community. I’m more than just a number here like all staff, students and community relationships. At Jessup, you’re known by others and it reminds you how much you’re known by God.
