This was the kind of impact US Lacrosse envisioned when it launched the National Campaign for Lacrosse, a $15 million fundraising venture not only to build a central hub for the sport, but also to further endow the national governing body’s growth and safety initiatives. Private donations fueled the campaign, which went public in July 2014 but was several years in the making.


US Lacrosse moved from its previous location adjacent to Homewood Field in Baltimore to the 12-acre campus in Sparks on May 16. “We’re extremely grateful for the generosity of so many people that have made this dream a reality,” said Steve Stenersen, president and CEO. “The trust they’ve placed in us to develop this great sport is humbling, and we are committed to validating that trust.”

Validation arrived quickly. Less than three weeks after moving in, the U.S. U19 men’s team started its journey to gold with the first Team USA training camp in its new home. That same weekend, several college women’s lacrosse players who hope to become officials received classroom and on-field training at US LACROSSE. Then on June 22, US Lacrosse christened the new Center for Sport Science by inviting about 50
