WING 1V1: APPROACH AND REACT
COACH DD D O
This is a great drill to create a realistic dodging and defending situation that happens both in 6v6 and in transition. The defensive player is forced to hustle, break down and react, while the offensive player is presented with a high-speed decision making opportunity.
SETUP
Position two cones on the wings 8 yards wide of each pipe and 10 yards above GLE. Place one cone in the center of the field 15 yards above the goal. You can have a player or coach stand at this top center cone to act as the “transfer man.” Change the dimensions based on age, skill and athleticism.
