responsible citizens. To help teens build leadership skills, Kiamichi Electric offers programs such as YouthPower Energy Camp and the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. Both programs are designed to inspire teens while teaching them important cooperative principles—and all expenses are paid by Kiamichi Electric.


K Energizing Eighth Graders


YouthPower Energy Camp introduces eighth graders to principles such as democratic governance and cooperation by helping them organize their own camp cooperative. Other activities and games build leadership skills and encourage teens to make new friends from across the state. With plenty of time for hiking, volleyball, ping pong and swimming, students are guaranteed a fun summer experience.


Energy Camp takes place May 30- June 2 at Camp Canyon near Hinton, Okla. Interested eighth graders are asked to submit an application form by April 7, 2017. Forms are available online at www.kiamichielectric.org.

Kiamichi Electric will sponsor two high school juniors to attend the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour on June 9-15, 2017 in Washington, DC. The one week, all expenses paid tour includes stops at more than fifty historic sites, monuments, and museums, plus fun cultural attractions.


Interested students are asked to write a letter to an elected official on an issue that concerns them.
