F Joy

Toys for Tots seeks toy donations for local children.

rom Tonka trucks to Holiday Barbie, every child deserves something special on Christmas morning. Toys for Tots makes sure local children experience the joy of Christmas by collecting and distributing hundreds of toys to needy families in Choctaw, Pushmataha and McCurtain counties.

Members of the public are asked to donate new toys for children age 12 and under. Rather than issue special requests, the organization prefers that people purchase toys based on what their own children would enjoy. This ensures a wide variety of toys for all ages.

This year, Choctaw Electric Cooperative offices in Hugo and Idabel will serve as Toys for Tots collection locations. Look for the Toys for Tots collection box in the front lobby.

Please drop off new toys —no gift wrapping, please —during regular office hours, 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Toy donations will be accepted from December 1 until December 15.

While all donations are appreciated, the Toys for Tots organization said that extremely realistic looking toy weapons and/or food items will not be accepted.
