Maj. Dan Artino, USA, Life Member (joined 2005): Artino graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 2002. He has more than 14 years of active duty service and has
served as a commander and staff offi cer in a variety of assignments in the aviation branch. He recently was a defense legislative fellow for Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi. Artino currently is a budget liaison in the Offi ce of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller.
Lt. Col. Juan M. Crockett, USA, Life Member (joined 2011): Crockett is a command chaplain for the U.S. Army at Research, De- velopment, and Engineering Command. He served a combat tour
in Iraq, in Korea, and with U.S. Army Central Command. He is involved with the Hampton University Ministers Conference, the United Service Organiza- tions, and a suicide prevention task force. He’s on the Member Services and Strategic Planning committees of MOAA’s board of directors.
Col. Gloria Diggs, USA (Ret), Life Member (joined 1978): After studying nursing for three years Diggs joined the U.S. Army in 1944. She later was chosen to continue her edu-
cation in the military and received both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing. She served for over 34 years in the U.S. Navy Nurs- ing Corps. Diggs was the fi rst female member of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter of MOAA and still is active in chapter activities.
Rita Owens (joined 2015): For over 10 years, Owens worked in municipal government personnel administration in southern California. A Marine Corps wife for 33 years, Owens has served
as scholarship advisor to several military spouses’ clubs; as a board mem- ber, advisor, and volunteer at Marine Corps and Navy thrift stores; and as a community volunteer supporting children’s causes. Owens is a member of MOAA’s Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council. MO
