From Antoni Gaudí’s fantastic vision of la Sagrada Familía to the opulent Palau de la Música Catalana, your stay in Barcelona is enriched by architectural wonders

Lagos, set on one of the largest bays in the Algarve and resplendent with 8th-century Moorish architecture; and the spectacular caves, natural tunnels and rock pillars of Ponta da Piedade, regarded by many as one of the most beautiful shorelines in Europe; its weathered sandstone cliffs stand as stark contrast to the deep turquoises and greens of the sea. After lunch aboard ship, join us for an afternoon tasting at an award-winning wine estate. Cocktails and dinner onboard this evening invite with camaraderie and regional cuisine. Meals BLD

5.  SIGHTSEEING IN SEVILLE Head up to the deck this morning for your ship’s arrival in the port of Seville, standing regally on the banks of the Rio Guadalquivir. Guided exploration on shore includes visits to the pavilions of the 1929 World Fair on the grounds of Maria Luisa Park; the Palacio de San Telmo built as a university in 1682 to train ships’ pilots, navigators and high ranking officers; 13th-century Moorish Torre del Oro, towering over the port; the traditional bullring, reputed to be one of Spain’s finest; and the tobacco factory of Carmen fame. Walk through Barrio Santa Cruz, Seville’s old Jewish Quarter, to the Gothic Cathedral, among the world’s largest, to see the tomb believed to be that of Christopher Columbus and visit the royal palaces, Reales Alcazar. This afternoon brings a special dance performance at the Museo del Baile Flamenco, where the passion of the dancers resonates with the soul of Andalusia. Dine aboard ship tonight as we chart a course toward Gibraltar. Meals BLD

A FEAST FOR THE SOUL

Beachfront Barcelona, flamboyant, fabulous and forward-thinking, is a mecca of culture, design, cuisine and endless discovery. Here you’ll find Gaudí’s architecture, fancy free and frivolous; medieval marvels tucked in the maze that is Barri Gòtic; hidden courtyards off the tree-lined pedestrian thoroughfare of La Rambla and neighborhoods like Gràcia where you can stumble upon a mix of architectural gems where families still live as they did 100 years ago and succumb to Catalan delights enjoyed by the locals. Once a separate village, Gràcia tempts with a taste of authentic barri life and melting pot culture that is reflected in its food and faces. Experience it firsthand with our expert guides.

6.  THE BRITISH ROCK, GIBRALTAR Just 2¼ sq. miles, the massive limestone Rock of Gibraltar rises out of the sea to a height of 1,396 feet and is often referred to as the gateway to the Mediterranean. Stay on the British-ruled Rock today as you visit the sites of this legendary place, including streets steeped in British traditions and apes almost as famous as the Rock where they live. Set sail for Málaga this evening. Meals BLD

7.  A MANOR IN MÁLAGA The land of dancing Andalucían horses and sherry welcomes you ashore in Málaga and invites you inside a typical manor for a tapas tasting and a private horse show. This afternoon’s panoramic tour of Málaga is highlighted by real-life visions of 14th-century Gibralfaro Castle; Plaza Merced; the birthplace of Pablo Picasso; and the ruins of the vast 8th-century Alcazaba (Moorish castle). Enjoy time at leisure to explore as you wish. A Tauck shuttle returns to the ship every 30 minutes. Meals BLD
