8. Dawn Doran, Stewardship Officer My job is to look after our donors, to provide the best ‘giving’ experience possible. I gather information to link our students to donors,and share stories about the impact of donor giving. I work closely with Schools around donor relations and activities, and co-ordinate events to bring our supporters together with students and academics to see the impact their donations are making.


What do you love about Edinburgh? Its beauty and history.

I visited London for the first time in September this year – and I loved it.


9. Eve Macdonald, Development Officer (Regular Giving) I manage the fundraising for our Annual Fund, which opens the doors to education, supports talented students and furthers innovative projects.

I’m terrified of orcas – I can’t even look at a photo of one.


If you could spend time in any country, which would you choose and why?


Always Switzerland. Mountains, lakes and rösti – perfect.


THE WATT CLUB COUNCIL


The Watt Club Council is the governing body of The Watt Club that works with the DAO in developing a programme of activities for The Watt Club as well as being a forum through which alumni can influence the University. 1. Heather Kay, Secretary and Treasurer I support the work of the President, Vice- President and council members of the Watt Club, carrying out the administrative functions and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

2. Mike Ross, Vice-President The role of Vice-President involves being an ambassador and representative for Heriot-Watt alumni around the world. This includes delegating for the President, engaging with the University and attending graduations and other key University events.


If you could spend time in any country, which would you choose and why?


It would have to be the Maldives – a lovely set of islands that sadly have a high chance of disappearing underwater due to rising sea levels.


Who would play you in the movie of your life?


I’ve got to say Jason Statham – we’ve got similar hairlines.


3. Norman Chipakupaku, President My role is to ensure that Watt Club branches around the world are active and sustainable and that Watt Club medal-winners play an active role in their branches and as mentors.


What do you love about Edinburgh?


I love the history of the city and its contribution to education, having produced some of the best brains in the world.


Describe yourself in a few words. Determined, focused and a very good listener.

Lynsey Cockburn, Executive Assistant to Assistant Principal (Development) My role is to support the Assistant Principal and the department, and ensure effective working links with a variety of offices within the University. I also plan and co-ordinate dinners with key alumni and prospective donors.
