All Edinburgh departments complete the move to the campus at Riccarton.

The Edinburgh Business School moves into its purpose-built new building.


1994


The University Institute of Petroleum Engineering wins the Queen’s Anniversary Award for Higher and Further Education.


The University wins the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement for its distance-learning MBA.


The School of Textiles and Design joins Heriot-Watt University to form the Scottish Borders Campus.


1999


The Edinburgh Business School wins the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement for a second time.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of its university status, Heriot-Watt introduces its own tartan.


The Planning and Housing Department joins the Heriot-Watt University School of the Built Environment from Edinburgh College of Art.
