THIS MULTI-SPORT FACILITY WILL EQUIP SCOTLAND’S TOP ATHLETES WITH THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO COMPETE ON AN INTERNATIONAL LEVEL, AS WELL AS INSPIRE GENERATIONS TO COME.

life-changing opportunities for students with Commonwealth, World and Olympic goals in their sights.

But you don’t need to be an elite athlete to feel the burn, or the benefit, at Oriam. The centre also offers affordable opportunities for our students and the wider local community to take part in sports and improve their fitness through its key partnerships with the Heriot-Watt Sports Union and the South-West Edinburgh Community Hub, as well as Oriam’s own Sport Programme.

As Catriona puts it: “Every visitor to Oriam is blown away by its scope and scale. It is inspiring to walk the halls and see both community users and elite, world-class athletes striving to be the best they can be.”

Brand-new and busy as it is, Oriam already has one eye on the future, with ambitious plans to expand its tennis facilities and for the regeneration of a historic walled garden in its grounds, with one vision being to create a tranquil space for all that will complement the science and sports-related activities of the centre to offer a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

To learn more about Oriam’s future plans, and how it will partner with Heriot-Watt University to make them happen, or if you’ve been inspired by the opportunities our partnership offers in nurturing our sportsmen and women and making sport accessible for our students and local community, you can find out how you can support these ambitions by giving the Heriot-Watt Development and Alumni team a call on +44 (0)131 451 3510 or dropping us an email at watt.club@hw.ac.uk
