AMY DAWSON, BOSUN Japan. In one word: epic. Food, snowboarding, culture, people: AMAZING! We did 3 weeks and travelled quite a bit. We did Tokyo, Sapporo, Niseko, Kyoto, Nozawa Onsen and then back to Tokyo. I would go back tomorrow. Heck I’d move there! Loved it!

in front of your eyes. The PowerRay can dive down to 30 metres under the waves, where it can use an optional “Fishfinder” sonar component to detect fish another 40 metres away. The drone’s WiFi system beams video and images captured by its integrated 4K camera and additional data on the underwater landscape and temperature right to an iOS or Android app.

Handplanes made for bodysurfing using all British, steam bent hardwoods and neoprene from recycled wetsuits. Handplanes allow you to plane effortlessly across a wave face when bodysurfing. The more pressure you put on the handplane, the more speed you’ll generate as you lift more of your body out of the water.

INGE BRENZEL, CHIEF STEW I loved exploring Morocco by car. We did a 10 day road trip and hit every major sight in a huge loop going from city to village in the north, as well as including the Atlas mountains and the ski station! This place is the definition of crazy/ beautiful.

JOHN ADAMS, ENGINEER Myanmar, the Mergui Archipelago is stunning. In the inland side the temples at Bagan are amazing and Inle lake is breathtaking. Great street food and warm and welcoming locals.

ERICA LAY, EL CREW CO DIRECTOR We spent a week over New Year driving around South Iceland. Absolutely spectacular scenery; rugged, raw and aggressive nature at her best. The low sun and limited daylight were actually a photographer’s dream. Plus the Northern Lights put on a stunning show for us on NYE!

There is, one knows not what sweet mystery about this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath...

MARLIES SANDERS, MATE Zanzibar...amazingly laid back vibe, beautiful rainforest. Colonial exotic culture, friendliest people, great markets, good food and lots of activities...
