Payment is via a much more convenient annual subscription of just £22.50 per year, eliminating the need for previous versions of buying and replacing the SIM every time the credit was used up.

If we think of the chiller or compressor as the heart of a central HVAC system, it serves the temperature requirements of the yacht generally via an insulated loop threaded around the vessel and containing water, usually starting and finishing in the machinery space. Locally positioned fan coil units, or air-handlers, (often with supplementary heating units either outside or inside the water loop) deliver required temperatures to individual spaces or zones and it’s with chillers where we’ve seen the most innovation in recent years.


Heinen & Hopman claim their oil-free Turbocor Chiller can reduce energy consumption by up to 50% and take up half the space of a conventional chiller. The absence of oil means ‘extras’ such as oil heaters, pumps, separators or filters are not needed and it uses frictionless magnetic bearings for reduced noise and maintenance.
