The brief? OPITO, due to the increasing profile of the OSCC series, wanted to up the ante in terms of the delegate experi- ence. Simply relying on “in-house AV” wasn’t cutting the mustard. The BIG Partnership were one
of our first, and now most valued clients, in Aberdeen. Quite simply, BIG tasked Metro with providing a production worthy of the occasion. We are the first event production
company to have a presence in Aber- deen, so were delighted to partner with BIG, and their client, OPITO for one of the highlights of the global oil and gas calendar.
Your USP? Central to our ethos is our production value. We are not an AV company in the traditional sense of the meaning. We see each event as a project, with the main deliverable being both client and delegate being blown away by the pro-
duction. We work with clients to create an experience involving AV equipment, yes, and the best for the job, but it’s what we do with it that counts!
Challenges? In the last 24 months we have been to

four continents. That is not to say that it is easy. What we can do is take the stress away from clients by sourcing and dealing with suppliers, and getting the best deal. As part of WPP, we have a truly
global network, which helps. It’s our business, so we know the value behind every proposition. This is why it took six attempts to find a trustworthy partner in the UAE, someone we have brought in for other projects.
How did it go? This was our second OSCC, and we took some lessons learned from last year into 2015. This paid dividends in terms of relief from challenges and stress. From Metro’s point of view, it was close to a perfect production (it is never perfect!). Metro created the ani- mations and awards videos, so we had a full hand in the presentation. Techni- cally, clients only notice if something goes wrong. Our eye is much keener. Most importantly, both client and delegate feedback was positive.
