ported the bid through the National Conference Bid Fund, managed by VisitScotland.

The trade association opened a Glasgow office in 2014 after a survey of its membership found there was insufficient representation for Scottish affairs at a UK level. Support and services are now


being offered to those members who are either based in Scotland or whose businesses depend on tourism in the Scottish market. Regular business development


meetings are now also being held either in Edinburgh or Glasgow throughout the year. There are also ‘discover’


workshops in Scotland, introducing Scottish tourism products to UKinbound tour operator members in Scotland and the rest of the UK. The association also plays an

active role in lobbying Scottish Government on issues pertaining to tourism via the Scottish Tourism Alliance, and providing members with market intelligence, trends and other relevant data specific to the Scottish tourism industry.
