EXHIBITOR PROFILE KUBOTA

Loads more from Kubota

Kubota UK has formally launched its new compact wheel loaders and tracked dumpers. Nick Johnson checked them out.

Whilst Kubota is best known for its mini excavators, the company has, over the years, offered other types of small plant. In the past, compact backhoe loaders, crawler carriers and small wheel loaders have also carried the manufacturer’s name. Now it is introducing two new ranges of compact articulated wheel loaders and a variety of improved tracked dumpers.

The two biggest wheel loaders in the new line-up are the 34.8kW R065 and the 46.0kW R085 with standard bucket capacities of 0.65m3

and 0.85m3

pro inching, a double gear pump, road lights, safety valves, a smooth ride system and different tyres, as well as the matched attachments.

respectively. Complete with Kubota engines and

hydrostatic transmissions, these two R series machines have been designed by Kubota and are being made at its factory in Germany.

For its new smaller wheel loaders, the company turned to the Dutch plant maker, Tobroco Machines, whose yellow GiANT branded models are well established in Holland and other European countries. There are now six orange-painted versions forming Kubota’s new RT series.

A 0.37m3 RT150 was test marketed at last year’s Executive Hire

Show. A good reaction led Kubota UK to officially introduce this machine, along with the smaller 0.23m3 extending up to the 0.42m3

RT100 and four others RT280. All have Kubota engines,

Bosch Rexroth hydrostatic transmissions, a choice of attachment hitches and a variety of matched alternative attachments.

The smallest RT100 and RT140 are only supplied with a canopy, whilst the RT150 to RT280 can be fitted with either a canopy or a fully enclosed cab, both ROPS/FOPS certified. The RT100 and RT150 differ from the other RT models by utilising four

Poclain wheel motors. The RT140 and RT210 to RT280 have shaft drive to their Comer or Emmequarto axles.

Look out for the compact RT100 at the Show.

Although none of the new RT loaders has a telescopic boom, there

are many detail options and differences in specification that will allow Kubota UK and its dealers to tailor machines to particular applications. Options for certain models include a hand throttle, hand inching,

The KC70VHD-4 demonstrates its high-tip capability loading a KC250HR-4 tracked dumper.

Kubota UK is determined to supply at least 50 of its new wheel loaders this year. To maximise sales, the company intends to utilise the majority of both its UK construction equipment and tractor/ground care dealer networks.

The newly enlarged and improved range of Kubota Dash 4 tracked dumpers are now being made for the company by Hinowa in Italy. In the Kubota range, these orange versions currently comprise the pedestrian/stand-on-the back models KC70H-4, KC70HV-4, KC70VHD-4 and KC110HR-4, together with the operator-seated KC250HR-4. All have Kubota engines.

All the new KC70 machines have a forward tipping 700kg payload skip and a 7.1kW Kubota engine. The standard tip models, namely the KC70H-4 and KC70HV-4 have, respectively, a fixed (758mm) and a variable (758mm to 1058mm) width rubber tracked undercarriage. The KC70VHD-4 is a variable width machine with a high-tip skip.

The KC110HR-4 has a 1000kg payload swivel skip. This 990mm wide, fixed undercarriage model has a hydraulic motor and slew ring for skip rotation. Like the new KC70 models it has a hydraulic transmission, with two gear pumps, and grease tensioned tracks.

The canopy-equipped, ride-on KC250HR-4 weighs 2700kg and has a 2500kg payload rotary skip. It has a 33.4kW Kubota engine, an HST hydrostatic transmission and short pitch rubber tracks with triple flange rollers. A swivel seat and controls provides the operator with a clear view when travelling forward, as well as the ability to face backwards for safer reversing and load discharge.

Several examples from the extended Kubota range will be on view at the Show, and the company’s display is expected to include a 15.0kW RT100 loader and the high-tip KC70VHD-4 tracked dumper.
