Leading the junior heifer in milk class was Izzy Whittaker’s Knowlesmere Atwood Diamond, a December 2012-born Atwood daughter that calved in February and is giving 40kg a day. She stood interbreed heifer champion at Newport Show, is out of Knowlesmere Panther Diamond 2 and is a granddaughter of the acclaimed Knowlesmere Roy Diamond EX95.


Michael and June Owens took red tickets in both the junior and senior dry cow classes. Winning the junior dry cow class was Loford Goldwyn Marci VG88. Due with her third in August to Woodmarsh Zandor she also stood first in the dry cow class at Aberyswyth Show. In the senior dry cow class it was Eola VG Celicia that stood top of the line, she is owned in partnership with A H Wilson and Son and is due her fourth to Silver in August.


ABOVE The biggest class of the day was the second calvers with eight forward.


Bestfed Golden Elegance 3 EX93 stood top of the third calved class for M and C Gould and A H Wilson and Sons. Sired by Goldwyn she is out of the Elton Durham sired dam Monamore Miss Elegance EX94. She calved in February and is giving 55kg a day. Purchased privately as a VG89 two year old from breeder Paul Finley she is one of three full sisters. Winning the group of three was A H Wilson and Son’s Bestfed Goldwyn Elegance, Willsbro Goldwyn Kitty 5 and Tregibby Beacon Rosina.
