This pair consisted of the first prize maiden heifer Woodmarsh Doorman Zandra 3 from A H Wilson and Son and she was joined by the second place maiden heifer Starlet Oak Ayana from M Webber and K Rickard.


Wilfred Maddock Ltd claimed two interbreed exhibitor bred championships under judge Robert Clare from Hawksmoor. In the pairs it was Wyndford Sid August 26 and Wyndford Artes Rebecca 43 that stood top. They were then joined by Wyndford Earl Winsome 87 to win the exhibitor owned groups of three. Holstein judge Brian Weatherup was looking for powerful cattle at the Royal Welsh and his final line up certainly reflected this.


Standing reserve champion was Iwan Morgan’s fourth calved Erie Maplerose PS Lustre. Fresh in May she was classified EX93 as a third calver and is giving 62kg. She stood reserve champion heifer at the Royal Welsh, reserve champion at the Welsh Dairy Show as a second calver and champion at Pembrokeshire Show. Sahara Holsteins also stood honourable mention with their second prize second calver Sahara Windy Tessie. This VG89 scored heifer is four weeks fresh in her second lactation and giving 45kg a day. As a heifer she won All Britain junior heifer in milk 2014, interbreed heifer champion at the Royal Welsh Show, interbreed heifer and reserve overall at the Royal Highland Show, reserve champion heifer at the Great Yorkshire Show, heifer and exhibitor bred champion at the Celtic Dairy Showcase. Her dam is the EX92 scored Sahara Damion Tessie, who was junior champion at the National Holstein Show 2009, the next dam was the EX90 classified Wiltor Morty Tessie who was calf champion at the


National Holstein Show 2005. Reserve heifer champion was Castellhyfryd Atwood Rosina from Simon and Sian Davies. Classified VG88 she is the eleventh generation VG or EX with her dam being the successfully shown Castellhyfryd Spirte Rosina EX95 who was interbreed champion at the Royal Welsh 2014 and 2011. Calved in October she has given 12,500kg to date, is still producing 40kg a day and is due in January to Silver.


In the classes Woodmarsh Doorman Zandra 3 stood top of the maiden heifer class for A H Wilson and Son. Bred by M and C Gould and purchased privately last year she is out of Woodmarsh Fever Zandra VG87 and then backed by five generations of Excellent dams. She stood first at South Wales HYB Calf Show and then fifth in her class at the All Breeds All Britain Calf Show. Jonestar Goldmine Trixie stood top of the in-calf heifer class for Rhys and Maria Jones. Her dam is Jomaras William Trixie GP82, a Wortell William daughter. She is due to calve in January to the
