TOP Winning interbreed


Blythewood Pairs leading the grand parade.


ABOVE Holsteins won four interbreed titles including champion group of five.

In her second lactation she stood fourth at AgriScot and was also fourth at UK Dairy Expo as a third calver.


Sterndale Atwood Noel stood honourable mention for Bill Nadin, having stood second to the champion in the junior cow class. Classified VG89 she calved in February with a Doorman heifer calf and is still giving 39kg a day. She stood first junior two year old and honourable mention at UK Dairy Expo, first and intermediate champion at Western Holstein Show and heifer champion at the Great Yorkshire Show 2014 before being awarded All Britain senior heifer in milk 2014. Sired by Atwood she is out of Sterndale Advent Noel Red VG89.


Standing reserve heifer champion was the second prize junior heifer Sterndale Alchamey Noel Red from Bill Nadin. Sired by Hunsberger Alchemy she is another daughter of Sterndale Advet Noel Red VG89. In the classes Bob Lawrence led off the first class with Lynholme Glauco Pledge, a January 2014-born heifer that was first and honourable mention at UK Dairy Expo. Her dam is the successfully shown Lynholme Lavanguard Pledge. Littlebridge Windbrook Sonya from the Miles family stood top of the next class, born in August 2014 she is out of a GP84 scored Shottle heifer, then backed by two generations of Excellent dams. She also stood champion at North Yorkshire Show. The youngest class of maiden heifers was won


by Absolute All About That Bass from Graham Kirby. Born December 2014 she was on her first show outing and is full sister to the two times UK Dairy Expo class winner Absolute Alicia in Wonderland.


Winning the in-calf heifer class was Rebecca Jarvis’ Braimber Stanleycup Kim, a June 2013-


born heifer that is due to calve in August. Carhall Goldwyn Elizabeth 5 won the junior in-calf cow class for Lizzie Miles. Classified VG87 as a two year old she is due in September to Mardi Gras. She was purchased privately as a 12 week old calf and went on to stand in the top five at UK Dairy Day and also won best heifer in the North East Winter Herds Competition. Her dam is the National Holstein Show champion 2006, Carhall Lyster Elizabeth.


The senior in-calf cow class was won by Huntholme Fannie 65 from Mike Southwell. Sired by Bolton and carrying her fourth calf she is due in October to Sid having produced 13,264kg at 4.19%bf 2.84%p in her third lactation.


Robert and Elaine Butterfield won the senior heifer in milk class with Newbirks Jazz 1584, a Lavanguard daughter that calved in October and is due again in November to Silver. Still giving 28kg a day she stood supreme champion at Otley Show before being purchased privately. The third calver class was also won by the Butterfields this time with the homebred Ingleview Rebel Lamy, a Ingleview Charles Lamy daughter. Calved in October she is still giving 35kg a day and is due again in October to Doorman.


Winning the exhibitor bred group of three were Robert and Elaine Butterfield with Ingleview Rebel Lamy, Ingleview Million Rose and Ingleview Barnie Barb. While Bill Nadin’s pair of Noel sisters stood top of the family pair class, they were Sterndale Atwood Noel and Sterndale Alchamey Noel Red. In the young stock show Jane Steel tapped out Bob Lawrence to win the showmanship with second prize mature handler Lizzie Miles following in to reserve spot.


The same handlers were also leading the champion and reserve calves with Lynholme Glauco Pledge taking the championship and Littlebridge Windbrook Sonya standing reserve. Both were first prize winners in the maiden classes the previous day.
