Flash

Lewa Adventure How can a rollercoaster with the world's tallest loop go largely un-noticed? Opened on January 1 this year, Flash is signature attraction at this new Chinese park which opened in summer 2015 at Jingyang in the Shaanxi province – yet manufacturer Mack Rides has made little fanfare about the ride to date.

That loop stands is one of two inversions alongside a zero-G roll. The

1.27km-long (4,176ft) ride starts with a drop of 61m (190ft) from the 61m- high (20f0t) chain lift hill. During an experience lasting more than two minutes, riders reach a top speed of 115kmm (71mph) and experience a maximum G-force of 4.2. Two 24-seater trains are in use, providing hourly capacity for 1,040 guests. Of the other seven coasters at Lewa Adventure, all are Chinese manufactured, including a clone of Mack's Pegasus family coaster.

Irland Europa-Park

Germany's number one amusement park this summmer launched its 14th European themed area. Irland (Ireland) is a family-friendly spot that celebrates rural life with lush theming inspired by the Emerald Isle. Surrounded by the river Elz, Ireland – Children’s World

(Welt der Kinder) takes on the appearance of a real island and is located, fittingly enough, right next to Europa-Park's England themed area. This 10,000 square-metre land of green hillss, goblins and castles is packed with plenty of new and re-themed rides and attractions, enticing gastronomic offerings and almost 4,000 plantts. In fact it's almost a “park within the park.” Hidden inside a red brick building, a custom-themed

Zierer Kontiki ride called Dancing Dingie (pictured, below right) awaits in 'Dublin Dockyard.' Once on board, brave sailors can set sail on a stormy ride as the boat rocks back, forth and turns in circles on a U-shaped track. Ba-a-a Express is a kids' coaster from Mack Ride (top right) that whizzes young goblins (aged 3+ and at least 95cm in height) along rugged rocks, over green hills and past grazing sheep. Meanwhile on Old MacDonald’s Tractor Fun, junior farmers chug slowly past fruit and vegetable gardens and through a barn. The colourful, life-size tractors were supplied by Metallbau Emmeln. As well as a handful of re-themed attractions – Sheep Rock (Mack chairs/boat ride), Spinning Dragons (Mack tea cups), Tower Tow (Heege tower), Paul's Playboat and Quipse Paddle Boats – Ireland also features two children's playgrounds. Inside the 600 sq m Limerick Castle, young explorers will find

mazes, slides, and climbing areas by Künstlerische Holzgestaltung Jürgen Bergmann, spread across three levels of a castle-themed building. This is complemented by Little Lambs Land, an outdoor play area from Ziegler Spielplätze. Over at Dingle Bay, parents can take it easy by kicking back on a deckchair while their children build sandcastles on the beach. There’s also hearty food and Irish hospitality at O'Mackay's Cafe and Pub. Chocolate and other sweet treats are available at Tender Milka World, while souvenirs can be bought from Shamrock Gifts and Treats.
